What is Dimensions Math® PK-5
series?
The Dimensions Math® PK-5 is a new
series written by a team of teachers and trainers with more than 100 years of
combined classroom experience. This series is designed to better serve U.S.
teachers and students. We’ve updated aspects of existing Singapore math
curriculum for clarity and relevance, while preserving the solid foundation
that makes it unique. Dimensions Math PK-5 is a rigorous, effective, and
engaging program for homeschools and classrooms.

Tell me more about the
textbooks...
The textbooks feature vibrant graphics to support mathematical concepts. Each
chapter opens with a real-life situation that stimulates student curiosity
about new concepts. Lessons include discussion and exploration, strategic use
of manipulatives, and exercises that progress systematically. Throughout the
series, five friends join students on their math journey, offering prompts and
questions. Pre-K and Kindergarten textbooks are designed for students to write
in directly. Lessons incorporate fun activities, such as art projects, musical
exploration, and more. Textbooks for grades 1-5 are meant to be reused.

Tell me more about the teacher's
guides...
Teacher’s guides are spiral bound with durable hard back covers. They are in
full color and include reduced-sized textbook and workbook pages for easy
reference. This wrap-around format means that educators have everything they
need in one place. The guides include clearly defined objectives and concise
materials lists. Teaching notes and activities offer guidance for students at a
variety of levels. Games and activities encourage creativity and exploration in
mathematics. These can be used by homeschoolers.

Are there answers in the textbooks and workbooks?
No. Answers are in the teacher's guides.
Do we need the textbook and workbook?
Yes, you need both. Textbooks contain learning tasks that are central to lessons, as well as practices and reviews to be done in class. Workbooks contain additional practice and independent work, which can be assigned as homework.
Are there supplementary titles?

How
are lessons structured?
Lessons consist of explanations and worked examples. Many
lessons include one or more class activities, which allow students to learn
through discovery. Some of these use Geometer’s Sketchpad. Each lesson is
followed by an exercise. Each chapter is followed by a summary of concepts, a
review exercise, an open-ended "Extend Your Learning Curve" problem,
and one or two questions for journal writing. Problems are divided by
difficulty level into Basic Practice, Further Practice, Maths@Work
(application) and Brainworks (challenge). Chapter review exercises are not
divided by difficulty level.
