Interactive Science For Inquiring Minds series is a comprehensive package written in accordance with the latest Science syllabus issued by the Singapore Ministry of Education.  It comprises a textbook in two volumes, theory workbooks, practical workbooks.
 
The Interactive Science Practical Workbooks are companions to the textbooks and theory workbooks to provide students with ample practice to consolidate what they have learnt.
 
The practical workbooks contain activities for experiments for inquiry-based learning and teaching, and are designed to help students acquire essential thinking and process skills.  Each experiment has clearly defined aims and many illustrations to guide students along.  Thought-provoking questions are also provided in every experiment to stimulate students' interest and guide them in carrying out their own scientific investigations.
 
Features of the practical workbooks include:
  • Experiments that are fully or partially guided to provide opportunities for students to acquire and develop science process skills, manipulative skills and creativity in the learning of science.  They also seek to inculcate in students scientific attitudes.
  • Activities allow students to acquire and develop the skills necessary in the learning of science.
  • Safety Measure provide safety tips and precautions for students to act on to ensure their own safety as well as the safety of others during science lessons.

Our recommendation:
 
The practicals are meant to be done in a fully equipped laboratory. We do not recommend the practicals for home use due to safety issues and the expense and difficulty in obtaining some of the materials.
