Physics Matters Practical Book is specially written to complement Physics Matters Textbook. Covering the latest GCE 'O' Level Physics syllabus set by the Ministry of Education, Singapore, this book is designed to help students master laboratory work and prepare them for Science Practical Assessment (SPA).
In the front section of this book, students are introduced to the various instruments and apparatus they will be handling in their course of study. This is followed by a section that teaches students basic practical skills required in carrying out experiments.
The second section of this book contains experiments that students can use for daily practice or as assessment tasks. Each experiment is designed to promote understanding of theoretical concepts learnt in the textbook.
Questions towards the end of each investigation reinforce understanding and develop problem-solving and thinking skills. Checkpoints are provided at the end of each experiment to help students master essential science practical skills. Students are also given the opportunity to modify existing experiments to prepare them for SPA Skill 3.
Selected design experiments are included for students' practice, along with enrichment activities and experiments that require the use of IT and data loggers.
