Physics Matters Workbook comprises two volumes and is specially written to complement Physics Matters Textbook. Covering the latest GCE 'O' Level Physics syllabus set by the Ministry of Education, Singapore, this book is designed to further students' learning journey from the textbook.
Volume One covers the units for the first two modules in the textbook - General Physics and Thermal Physics. Each unit in this book consists of worksheets that are arranged to follow closely to the sequence of topics covered in the textbook. They provide students a systematic review and essential practice to prepare them for assessment.
These worksheets reinforce the concepts covered and help students diagnose their understanding to highlight areas of weakness and misconception. Selected past year exam questions are provided for students to apply the concepts learnt and to assess themselves under simulated examination conditions, gearing them for the GCE 'O' Level examinations. Data analysis questions are also included to give students practice in interpreting and manipulating different kinds of data in unfamiliar context.
About the authors
Charles Chew, Chow Siew Foong and Dr Ho Boon Tiong are well-known Physics educators in Singapore, each with many years of experience in teaching the subject at secondary and junior college levels. In this edition they have updated the comprehensive coverage of content and the pedagogical approaches to foster scientific inquiry in students.
